SWOT ANALYSIS FOR SUCCESS

This module is designed to equip participants with the skills to carry out a critical analysis of their business using the SWOT process. The outcome will enable them to apply the results as a current health check, together with a roadmap for improving future business performance. The module can be delivered one to one, or with up to 4 staff members in house, or off site in Whangarei.

SMART BUSINESS PLANNING FOR SUCCESS

This module is designed to equip participants with the knowledge of why business planning is critical to success and provide them with the skills to develop a simple business plan using the SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Timely) principles. The module can be delivered one to one, or with up to 4 staff members in house, or off site in Whangarei.

SALES SKILLS FOR THE SMALL BUSINESS OWNER

This module is designed to give non-salespeople, who cannot afford years of on-the-job training, the tools and skills they need - quickly and in simple language.

Attendees will learn: How to find and qualify prospects. How to get appointments with busy decision-makers. How to make sales presentations. How to close the sale. How to make prospects react favourably to you. How to sell to prospects who already have the services or products you are selling. How to create sales systems that support your efforts. The module can be delivered one to one, or with two co-owners, in house, or off site in Whangarei.

IMPROVE YOUR PROSPECTING SKILLS

This module is designed to improve the effectiveness of sales hunters.  Attendees will learn how to: Develop a Unique Selling Proposition (USP). Create an elevator pitch that quickly gets across what you do and why the prospect should see you.  Be able to deal with a prospect who is happy with their current supplier. Get appointments by cold calling, either by phone or directly. Learn how to follow up. How to handle objections and ask for the order.  Write compelling emails. Understand that selling is a process and that systems are important. The module can be delivered one to one, or with up to 6 staff members in house, or off site in Whangarei.

Coaching usually totals 12 hours over 6 months. Typically, a two hour session at the beginning, followed by one hour sessions every fortnight for the first two months, then monthly one hour sessions for the remaining 4 months, with a 2 hour final session. Frequency and duration of the sessions are flexible, depending on the needs of the business owner.

The business owner is expected to spend time between sessions working on actions they have
agreed to during the previous coaching session. The time required will vary according to the
actions chosen.

CAPABILITY VOUCHER CRITERIA

For access to co-funding for registered training, enterprises must meet the following criteria:

  • Have undergone an assessment with a Regional Partner (i.e.: Growth Advisor);

  • Have fewer than 50 full time equivalent employees;

  • Are registered for GST in New Zealand;

  • Are operating in a commercial environment; and

  • Are a privately-owned businesses, or are a Maori Trust or incorporation under the Te Ture Whenua Maori Act 1993 or similar organisation managing Maori assets under multiple ownership.
